Robert Price Builders’ Merchants has raised over £3,500 to contribute to local initiatives, including food banks, children’s toy banks, and facility collections this winter.

Working in association with its suppliers and manufacturers, collection has been underway to provide hampers for hungry homes this Christmas. Charitable contributions from a wide range of supply partners have contributed to this worthy cause.

Robert Price has been working in collaboration with its supply chain, with a range of suppliers involved in donations for the Robert Price Christmas Community Initiative. The proceeds will be used to stock up food bank initiatives across South Wales.

Robert Price Public Sector and Housing Association clients have been invited to participate in the initiative, distributing their share of the community pot in different ways. The Christmas Community Initiative food parcels, presents, and donations will go out to families in Caerphilly, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Glamorgan, Monmouthshire, Newport and Cardiff.

The initiative has been co-ordinated by the Robert Price Public Sector team and headed up by Dave Pattison. The collection is to be divided between the recipient association food bank causes, who typically rely on individual contributions and donations from other local families.

Mr Pattison said: “The number of families who rely on food bank donations has increased dramatically over recent years. As more and more of our partners’ clients and tenants require this voluntary service, we saw fit to help with the contributions where we could. Food banks are a relevant issue all year round, but helping families over the festive period is particularly heart-warming. Our donations included toys and presents too, that can make Christmas really special. I’d like to thank all our suppliers, who have wholeheartedly supported our initiative. It is such a wide reaching and deserved cause, we really appreciate the wider involvement in our appeal.”

Some of the recipient partners have already been busy distributing their food bank parcels. Caerphilly Homes thanked Robert Price for this year’s involvement in its successful food bank, which has been an annual appeal for the last four years. Tai Calon housing association thanked Robert Price for the contributions which have helped raise totals of over £11,000 for local families this Christmas.
