Jewson breaks Christmas jumper world record

Published:  16 December, 2015

Builders’ merchant, Jewson, set a Guinness World Record for the largest group of Christmas jumper wearers at its annual conference on 14 December, 2015.

1,187 employees from Jewson branches across the UK gathered at the NEC, Birmingham, in their Christmas jumpers to break the record of 1,175 previously held by Loughborough University.

More than £7,000 was raised on the night for Macmillan Cancer Support, which Jewson parent company, Saint-Gobain, is supporting. The donations will be added to the £370,000 already raised since the two-year partnership began in January 2014.

Mark Rayfield, CEO of Jewson, said: “Jewson employees go above and beyond every single day, so it seems fitting to be named Guinness World Record holders, and especially as it has helped raise money for such a great cause.”
