SCA Timber Supply has announced that it has been awarded the Investors In People (IIP) Standard Accreditation.

The company says the achievement demonstrates its commitment to the development of employees across its business.

Meeting 45 evidence requirements to attain the standard, there was also sufficient, consistent evidence identified for 6 Criteria above the IIP Standard. These include: Core values, Key performance indicators, Top managers as role models and People being committed to the success of the business.

Investors in People’s standard defines what it takes to lead, support and manage people well for sustainable results, the organization says.

IIP is designed to help organisations improve business performance and achieve objectives through effective people management and development.

SCA Timber Supply managing director, John Griffiths, said: “It is very rewarding to have gained Investors In People accreditation at the first attempt.

“We are committed to developing our team and have worked tirelessly to enhance our communication and employee progression at all levels.

“Our evolving business is highly dependent upon having a well-informed and motivated team of people. We are all working to a common objective of high customer service levels and acceptable shareholder return on investment while making sure SCA is a great place to work.”

SCA says that it is committed to good people management, and that the Investor in People accreditation sits comfortably alongside the SCA group's core values of responsibility, excellence & respect.
