Builders merchant JT Atkinson & Sons has commissioned internet services provider Netplan to develop a cloud computing platform for an initial 36-month period, in a contract worth approximately £400,000.
Netplan’s ‘hybrid cloud’ package includes private cloud computing for guaranteed performance and platform availability. Business continuity and disaster recovery are to be delivered via Amazon Web Services.
Billing for the contract commences immediately, Netplan has said, with build and deployment already underway. The contract value will be delivered over an initial 36-month minimum term and includes professional services and consultancy.
Netplan says that the exceptional sector knowledge and experience of its merchant team, as well as its extensive knowledge of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application itself is driving momentum.
The company also claims that it is fast becoming the predominant supplier to the ERP sector following its acquisition of cloud-based software provider to builders' merchants Q4Ex in 2014.
