Angela Rushforth, formerly group managing director at Ridgeons, has left the company to take up a new role at a national builders' merchant.

Rodney Baker-Bates, Ridgeons' non-executive chairman, has taken operational responsibility for an interim period until a replacement is appointed.

Mr Baker-Bates said: "The board has been working on a robust three-year strategy, ensuring a positive future for Ridgeons. We will continue to forge ahead with our plans for growth. On behalf of everyone at Ridgeons, I'd like to thank Angela for leading the business, for consistently challenging herself and the team to deliver improvements and for implementing a range of change initiatives that leave the business well-positioned for the future."

Ridgeons is a leading independent builders' merchant based in the East of England. In addition to 26 merchant branches the Group also includes Ridgeons Forest Products, CRS Wholesale and Anglia Tool Centres.
