LOUGHBOROUGH: Polypipe Water Management Solutions (WMS), recently brought together engineers from civil engineering, construction and the public sector for its ‘SUDS: Planning for Change’ free CPD seminar event.

Following on from its first event in May, Polypipe WMS hosted 120 delegates at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester for a one-day event covering a variety of current issues relating to sustainable drainage and water management solutions.

A collection of authoritative industry speakers provided design advice and guidance on the legislation governing SUDS best practice, while establishing a context of the current market conditions for SUDS and local authority adoption.

Dr. Jason Shingleton, marketing and development director for Polypipe WMS commented: “We’re delighted that this event was another success. The seminar had an excellent turn-out and the feedback we have received has been extremely positive, so it’s good to know that we are covering the areas the industry has a genuine interest in. We feel that as the leading manufacturer we have a responsibility to tackle the degree of confusion regarding the appropriate use of SUDS solutions and to approach this in an unbiased manner. Our independent and impartial speaker line-up offered practical advice, which engineers seem to be calling out for from across the industry. We hope the event has gone some way to improving the level of understanding relating to SUDS.”

The interest shown in the ‘SUDS: Planning for Change’ event was widespread and Polypipe WMS are considering a number of other locations within the UK to satisfy the demand for the seminar.
