F & P announce new strategy to simply deliver more

Published:  22 May, 2015

F & P, the distributor of plumbing, heating and bathroom products, has launched a new service focused strategy and promise to ‘simply deliver more’ for its customers.

“At F & P we are determined to deliver more for our customers, colleagues and shareholders,” said Jed Kenrick, managing director at F & P. “There is a clear vision of what the business will look like in 2020 and have started to take positive steps to make that happen. We set out to significantly grow the business, supplying a wider range of products to our existing customer base with unbeatable service delivered through fun and friendly people.

“The successful re-launch of our bathroom offer, the growth of Connections and the acquisition of Primaflow, all demonstrate our commitment to extending our reach beyond our historic strengths in the heating category. In addition, we are investing in people and systems to upgrade our sales and supply chain capability. We have also recently consolidated our sales offices into four locations to enable us to build centres of excellence.”

Mr Kenrick continued: “Our next step is to restructure and optimise our network so that we extend our order cut off times, offer a wider range and greater depth of stock, and deliver prompt and reliable service from a consolidated and upgraded network infrastructure. This means we will be consolidating our warehouse and picking operations in our two regional distribution centres in Wakefield, and in Bedford, which is currently under construction. This will be completed in the north during 2015 and in the south in 2016.

“In parallel to this, we will be integrating the F & P and Primaflow sales teams into the industry's biggest and strongest team to increase the number of individual customers we call on face-to-face and the total number of customers we speak to. Crucially, as far as our customers are concerned, the familiar and friendly faces and voices they see and hear every day in our sales offices and delivery vehicles won't change as a result of these moves.

“These are significant steps within our programme of continuous improvement as we strive to build the best plumbing, heating and bathroom distributor in the UK and continue to update you as we progress towards this goal.”
