Dulux Decorator Centre has recently been awarded the Investors in People Champion Gold status for the second time running. The prestigious award is the highest level of Investors in People accreditation, and is in recognition of continuing excellent standards in people management.

The decorating specialist has been accredited by Investors in People for over 10 years, and recently applied for the Champion status to encourage good working practice in its network of over 180 stores across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Investors in People highlighted a number of Dulux Decorator Centre’s key strengths, including its clear purpose, vision and emerging strategy, its values being at the heart of the company and overall effectiveness in leading, managing and developing people. The assessors also drew attention to its focus on learning and development needs, plans and resources, people feeling their individual contribution is valued, as well as promotion of a culture ownership and responsibility.

Lisa Morley, HR business partner at Dulux Decorator Centre, said: “We’re very proud to be awarded such a prestigious status. It’s testament to our commitment to employee development and our efforts to achieve a high level of excellence throughout the company. Through the Champion status we are committed to sharing our experiences with other organisations, but also learning from them, encouraging good practice and supporting continuous improvement for everyone involved.

“We are constantly reviewing our business model to ensure that we provide a working culture of which our employees are equally proud and this accreditation is proof of our efforts. We hope to continue to build on our strengths and also the recommendations, to look for ways that we can continue to improve, and ensure we retain this award in the future.”
