Grafton Group acquires TG Lynes

Published:  03 March, 2015

Grafton Group plc, the builders' merchanting and DIY Group with operations in the UK, Ireland and Belgium, has completed the acquisition of TG Lynes, a distributor of mechanical engineering products for use in commercial and public sector buildings, apartments and industrial processes.

TG Lynes has a long-established and strong position in the mechanical services market in London and the South East and trades from a distribution facility in Enfield, North London.

The acquisition greatly enhances the Group's presence in this segment of the merchanting market and complements developments in its Plumbase Industrial business, which serves major contractors in the mechanical and electrical (M&E) market.

Plumbase Industrial currently trades from 12 locations following a successful entry into the market in 2013.

Mark Kelly, CEO at Grafton Merchanting GB, said: "We are delighted to announce our acquisition of TG Lynes and to extend our offering to commercial building services and industrial process markets across the South East. This acquisition further strengthens the Group's platform for future growth and is a significant step forward for the Plumbase Industrial business."
