The Southampton branch of Sydenhams has completed a new sensory garden for Countess Mountbatten Hospice in Southampton.

During 2014, the independent builders' merchant worked with radio station Wave 105 to find a community project or charity that would benefit from an expert landscaping makeover. A panel of judges comprising team members from Sydenhams and Wave 105 then chose Countess Mountbatten Hospice as the winning project from all the nominations.

Sydenhams staff donated their time, skills and building materials to create a special outdoor space for the hospice, with all involved delighted with the result.

The video below follows Sydenhams' journey as the gardens were transformed.

Sydenhams has a long tradition of supplying timber and building materials throughout Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset and the Isle of Wight. Originally founded in Poole in 1874, the company now has a network of 27 branches and hire centres.
