Norman Piette in Guernsey has appointed Paul Rogers as managing director.

As commercial director for the last four years, Mr Rogers has been the driving force behind the development of the Bulwer Avenue site and, as this nears completion, he is broadening his remit to keep improving and growing the business as a whole.

With a long and distinguished background in the industry, Mr Rogers has previously held directorships of major independent UK builders’ merchants and has experience that spans over 30 years.

Tony Gallienne, chief executive of the Norman Piette Group, said: “Paul has been a key factor in transforming Norman Piette and we have no doubt that he is the best person to steer the business through its continued growth and on to even greater success.”

Mr Rogers aims to increase sales performance, get closer to customers and create an environment in which all staff feel valued and will naturally deliver excellent customer service.

“I have been given a tremendous opportunity within one of the island’s iconic businesses, and a key aim is to prepare the company for the future by encouraging succession from within,” he said. “This will put the company in great shape to tackle the next 10 years.”
