Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has been announced as the latest speaker who will appear at the BMF All Industry Conference in Malta, this June.

Mr Llewelyn-Bowen is known for his unique flair and flamboyant style, which launched the BBC's era-defining makeover programme, Changing Rooms, in 1995. Since then he has become the 'go-to' presenter for home style TV concepts in the UK, Asia, America and Australia.

His ability to inspire and energise viewers is legendary, but Mr Llewelyn-Bowen has also been at the helm of an extremely successful design practice since 1992. His LLB branded home sector products are sold in retailers as diverse as Littlewoods, John Lewis and Harrods. Most recently, the launch of his international home collection into Asia, South America and the Middle East will be the subject of a BBC documentary to be aired this year.

As a passionate supporter and advocate for British innovation, and hugely knowledgeable about building products, he recently announced plans to build an energy efficient, future-proofed home along with his wife Jackie, CEO of Llewelyn-Bowen Ltd, that will see them through the rest of their lives. He will be working with the BMF on this and other projects in the future.

BMF managing director John Newcomb said: "I know some people will be surprised to see Laurence on our Conference line up, but I have been working with him and Jackie for the last 12 months and I know he will be a truly fantastic addition to our speaker programme. Not only is he passionate about British innovation, he has wide-ranging knowledge of both traditional and ground-breaking building materials, and we will no doubt see examples of both in his new house.

"In this regard he is both designer and consumer, and it's important that merchants know how each customer group thinks. Add to this the razor sharp wit and infectious humour that has kept him at the top of the presenting game for 20 years and his session promises to be one of the most memorable at this year’s Conference."

Mr Llewelyn-Bowen's presentation will follow that of TV builder, Tommy Walsh, after which they will both take part in a Q&A session chaired by Conference host, Olympic and Commonwealth medal winner and TV presenter, Sharron Davies.

The 2015 All-Industry Conference takes place from 18 to 21 June, 2015, at the five-star Westin Dragonara Resort in St Julians Bay, Malta.
