The Water Label has now launched and will start to be seen on bathroom fittings that are available at Chandlers’ Lewes branch.

Towards the end of 2013, Chandlers Building Supplies became one of the first builders’ merchants in the country to sign up to the new water labelling scheme, joining national brands such as Homebase, B&Q, Argos and Southern Water.

Having been developed by the Bathroom Manufacturers Association, the Water Label will give customers a clear indication of the water efficiency performance of a piece of equipment, whether it’s bathroom and kitchen taps, shower controls and handsets or flow regulators.

Phil Barnard, head of sustainability at Chandlers, said: “As the cost of household bills has increased, we have seen a number of people looking to purchase more energy-efficient products. Therefore, we were proud to have been one of the first to sign up to the water labelling scheme and see its benefit from the very start. Our customers will start seeing the water label on our products helping them to make more informed choices.”
