BBS Plumbing & Heating Supplies has announced the opening of its first remote branch.

Based on the Locksbrook Road Trading Estate in Bath, this is the first of a planned steady expansion by BBS over the next five years.

Originally a family run company started by a former mayor of Bristol, Albert Francis Moon, in 1933, BBS who specialise in plumbing materials and commercial sanitaryware was acquired by John O’Brien in 2010 and has grown steadily throughout the recession and now employs 21 staff.

Managing director John O’Brien said Bath was identified as the ideal location to open the second branch to take advantage of what he felt was a gap in the market. He said: “This prosperous city is not well served by independent plumbing suppliers and we felt that with the ambitious plans that the council has to encourage growth in the universities, it was a great time to open and service some of that demand.”
