‘Hire-It’ from BSS recognised for its high standards

Published:  23 October, 2014

The Hire-It service from BSS Industrial has been awarded the Safe Hire Private Standard accreditation by Hire Association Europe in recognition of its ability to provide the best possible standards of equipment, safety, training, and customer service across its 27 dedicated tool and equipment hire trade counters.

The standard has been designed specifically for the hire industry with the assistance of British Standards Institute and the Health and Safety Executive, while incorporating the Contractors Health & Safety Scheme accreditation.

To achieve the standard, which was applied for by the wider Travis Perkins Group, two BSS Industrial branches completed a detailed assessment. The inspection covered the condition of the hire equipment, paperwork accuracy, and the effectiveness of its data management in relation to hire contracts, equipment service records, training, and customer service.

Tom Wilson, sales and operations director at BSS Industrial, said: “This superb achievement highlights our continued commitment to offering the best all-round standards of equipment, safety, training, and customer service. We are still relatively new players in the industry but this proves that we are serious about what we’re offering and that our customers can expect a quality service at any of our Hire-It counters.”
