Community bicycle repair shop

Published:  02 October, 2009

PORTISHEAD: A free bicycle repair workshop opened at Portishead Youth Club earlier this week and Travis Perkins was one of several local businesses that supported the project.

The workshop will teach young cyclists how to repair and maintain their bikes and at the same time refresh their knowledge of road safety and the Highway Code.

Shaune Hicks from Crest Nicholson, which built the purpose-built workshop free of charge, said: "Many local cyclists live in residential areas that we have built and it was a pleasure to offer our services and help keep young cyclists safer in Portishead."
