New look for old merchant

Published:  10 May, 2009

NOTTINGHAM: It's official. The re-launch of one of Derbyshire's oldest builders' merchants took place recently. The 125-year-old family-owned merchant has extended its trade counter area and completely redesigned its building yard with customer parking and newly renovated offices.

New IT systems are currently being installed in the offices and trade counter to improve efficiency for both trade and domestic customers.

The company now stocks a more extensive range of building, plumbing, timber and drainage products, and has introduced a number of new suppliers including Speedfit, Everbuild, Crown Paints and a hand tool range backed by hand tool specialist, Tool Bank.

Trade customers and DIY enthusiasts from across the area turned out in force for the official opening of Clower & Son Builders' Merchants' new-look branch on Nottingham Road in Ripley.

Customers were able to see the latest building and plumbing products from some of the leading industry brands. They were also treated to refreshments, free gifts and a variety of special 'Open Day' offers.

Every customer making a purchase on the day was entered into a prize draw to win a top of the range satellite navigation system.
