Ridgeons driver crushed in accident

COLCHESTER: The driver of a truck pulling a Ridgeons' builders merchant trailer was crushed in an accident. The driver, who has not been named by police was driving a TS Transport lorry, pulling a Ridgeons builders' merchants' trailer.

Alistair Brace, group logistics manager for Ridgeons, said: "He was pulling one of our trailers, but it was not one of our vehicles. He picked up a full load and had already made the delivery when the incident occurred. He was sub-contracted to us."

The accident occurred at the lorry park, behind Boreham services on the A12, on Wednesday afternoon when the driver was crushed between the lorry and a brick wall when the vehicle rolled after the driver had left the cab. He sustained serous leg and chest injuries.
