RBS and Natwest launch online trading tool to support SMEs

RBS and NatWest have launched BizCrowd, a free-to-use online business supplier community, designed to complement the banks' traditional SME services. For decades bank managers have supported B2B trade by connecting businesses offline, now BizCrowd takes that support system online. From today, suppliers in the building sector are invited to sign-up to Bizcrowd and pitch for service requirements posted by other UK businesses - or post their own.

BizCrowd is open to all UK businesses, is free to join and use, and is designed to encourage collaboration between British SMEs. The website helps SME’s build their online profile and generate new business leads, as well as acting as a resource for customers looking for trusted suppliers. Bizcrowd is a true peer-to-peer business community, complete with feedback mechanism, which allows registered suppliers to be rated and recommended by customers in the community.

Chris Sullivan, chief executive Corporate banking, RBS and NatWest said: “It has always been the role of the bank manager to connect British businesses to one another, now we’re extending that support online. Supplier registrations are now open for a wide range of sectors, from media and creative industries, to recruitment, construction and venues and events.
