Supply chain collaboration delivers increased efficiency for Murphy

Published:  05 December, 2012

Multi-disciplined civil engineering contractor Murphy (J. Murphy & Sons) has entered into a partnership with Keyline, part of the Travis Perkins Group. The partnership will see the companies working collaboratively to streamline the procurement and delivery process for materials nationally.

Stephen Marr, Murphy environmental manager, explained: “The environmental impacts of our business extend beyond what we do in our offices and our sites throughout the UK. Our partnership with Keyline will provide significant improvements in terms of environmental sustainability by reducing the carbon and waste associated with the supply of materials to site.”

John Coll, Murphy divisional director of procurement and plant and transport, added: “Murphy continuously seeks to collaborate with its supply chain in an effort to reduce costs for customers whilst maintaining quality and improving on delivery.”

Through the sharing of best practice and with a focus on adding value, the framework thus far has contributed to significant waste and recycling efficiency savings through this streamlined approach.
