Sussex Building Control backs local suppliers

HORSHAM: Sussex Building Control, the local authority building control service for Horsham District Council and Crawley Borough Council, is helping Kier Construction recruit local construction companies to build new homes in Sussex.

Sussex Building Control, in partnership with the Flash Plus project, is offering local small to medium sized construction companies the opportunity to attend a free two day workshop to find out how to become a supply chain member for Kier Construction to help it deliver new houses in Sussex.

Ian Howard, Horsham District Council cabinet member for living and working communities, said: "Sussex Building Control is delighted to support Kier Construction in its drive to recruit local companies and bring employment to local people.

"As the local authority building control service, Sussex Building Control adds value to Kier's forthcoming schemes by consulting at an early stage.

"Partnering is most definitely a winning formula and a strong emphasis of the partnership between Kier and Sussex Building Control is on encouraging local employment opportunities.

"I'd urge any local businesses with the necessary skills to attend the workshop and give themselves the best chance of joining Kier's supply chain."
