Tooling up for charity help

Published:  17 October, 2012

UK: Visitors to any of Toolstation’s 120 plus trade counters around the UK might be surprised to see Land Rovers and boats for sale.

The Land Rover Defenders with their attached RNLI D Class lifeboats are high quality Corgi models and are being sold to raise funds for the RNLI’s Flood Rescue Team.

Toolstation already sponsor the RNLI Flood Rescue Team and says it came up with the idea to help raise additional funds and also lift awareness of the work undertaken by the charity. RNLI’s Flood Rescue Team assists in inland waterborne emergencies and in cases of natural disaster.

Toolstation’s managing director Neil Carroll said he was confident the unique model would be a big success. “Corgi has made a beautiful model with extraordinary attention to detail. It makes a perfect ornament or gift and all profit goes directly to the charity. I am sure it will sell very well indeed which will be of great benefit to the RNLI Flood Rescue Team.”

The models are on sale at all Toolstation counters at £5. 49p with all profits going to the charity.
