Suppliers invited to Meet the Buyer event

Published:  27 September, 2012

OLD TRAFFORD: Trafford-based social housing procurement consortium, Procure Plus, is inviting suppliers to attend a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event on Wednesday 3 October, to learn more about its proposed framework agreement for a merchant to supply goods and materials for the completion of responsive maintenance and repairs to social housing.

The event is being held at Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford, from 9.30am to 1pm, and visitors will have the chance to find out more about the framework, which will allow Registered Providers (RPs) to work with a merchant to quickly procure a full range of materials and supplies for responsive, unplanned repairs and maintenance, while realising social and economic benefits.

During the day, suppliers will be informed about the proposed framework agreement and how they can apply to participate in the procurement.

Suppliers interested in attending the event are asked to complete a pre-event survey to assist in defining the new procurement arrangement. As well as ensuring the content of the session is more meaningful, it allows the supplier base to make comment on the design of the service and the methodology of the framework renewal process.

Clare Tetlow, Senior Procurement Manager at Procure Plus, said: “This will be an excellent opportunity for interested suppliers from across the UK and Europe to find out more about the long term business benefits the framework has to offer. We are looking forward to engaging with suppliers of all sizes and to hear the market’s views on the proposed framework. That’s why we are welcoming feedback to help us improve the design of the future service.”
