LBS Builders Merchants has a history spanning over 80 years and is a leading independent builders’ merchants in West Wales, supplying a comprehensive range of building materials to construction, DIY and engineering industries. As part of our expansion programme, we are looking to recruit a buyer.


You will be capable of developing robust strategic plans for major product categories, developing supplier and product strategies. This will link to an overall plan designed to deliver significant positive impact to the company's financial performance. You will work closely with the operations director, together with stock and sales management to create sustained profitable growth and additional value.


While knowledge of building materials distribution is not essential, buying and category management experience in a multi-site trade or retail environment is highly desirable. You will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, a sound understanding of product and price hierarchy to include new product development, strong analytical abilities to support confident decision making together with the ability to hit deadlines in a highly successful team.
