HULL: Morgan Sindall is to start work on a £19m school project in Hull city centre as part of the £400m Hull Building Schools for the Future programme.

The job to build and refurbish St Mary's College will involve the construction of a 6.500sq metre teaching block, sports block and theatre.

Gordon Ray, North East construction managing director at Morgan Sindall, said: "A programme of works of this size and calibre has a huge impact on the economy of the city and we always look to support the communities in which we work.

"We will be aiming to work with approximately 50 subcontractors and recruit up to 15 apprentices throughout the lifetime of the project."
