Published:  27 July, 2012

UK: The Institute of Builders' Merchants is looking for merchants who are prepared to challenge the practical building skills of the previous winning teams from Ridgeons and MKM in its next Practical Building Skills challenge in October.

The Challenge is about learning by experience from working with the products we sell every day. Prizes will be awarded for the best build and all attendees will be awarded a free year's membership of the IoBM.

Challenges include:

  • Building a brick and block wall
  • Hanging a door and fitting associated ironmongery
  • Plastering and skimming
  • Painting up a symmetrical design

Merchants should book now for the Institute of Builders Merchants' Practical Building Skills Challenge Day at Derby College on Wednesday 24 October, 2012.

If you are interested in participating, contact Gill Sellick on admin@iobm.co.uk or 01767 650662 or visit the website.

Suppliers are welcome to support the event through sponsoring materials, providing prizes or through attendance on the day.
