NOTTINGHAM: Paul Steenberg, head of operations at Masons Timber Products is retiring after more than 40 years of service to the timber manufacturer. His most recent achievement is in leading Masons to acquire PEFC accreditation.

He joined the company in 1972 and worked his way up from the shop floor. He successfully guided Masons’ purchasing department though one of its major periods of expansion; the supply of timber products to the newly emerging superstore era of the ‘70s onwards.

As head of operations, he has travelled extensively, sourcing a wide range of timbers for one of the UK's leading manufacturers of timber home improvement products operating within the DIY retail, merchant and manufacturing sectors. Masons has a 125 year old trading history, is both PEFC and FSC accredited and a member of the Timber Trades Federation.

Mr Steenberg said: ‘My four decades of experience with Masons has been both professionally challenging and rewarding. The timber trade has offered me a great career which I am most appreciative of and I’ve made some lifelong friends in the process’.
