WELWYN GARDEN CITY: The UK division of Sika has announced the appointment of Ivo Schaedler as general manager.

Mr Schaedler joins the UK business on 1 June, following almost 15 years working for Sika at its head office in Switzerland and Swiss subsidiary Sika Schweiz AG. His most recent position was as Head of the company's Contractor and Industry business units, which both developed and performed well under his leadership.

Commenting on his plans for the UK, Mr Schaedler says; "One of the major targets for Sika UK is the integration of our three sites in Norwich, Preston and Welwyn Garden City, and the continuing success of the business in the various markets we operate in. It is my intention to build on the synergies we have between our different business units to enable us to offer the best products and solutions to our customers."

Mr Schaedler has a Master's Degree in Material Science and Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and a Master's in Business Administration from the International Business School in Zurich. His background within Sika and his understanding of the complexities of the construction and manufacturing industries set him in good stead to continue the growth of the UK business.
