PTS hits the pitch for Cancer Research UK

Published:  28 May, 2012

NORTHAMPTON: Staff from across leading merchant PTS are putting their collective feet up after doing battle at the company’s annual five-a-side football tournament on Sunday 20th May 2012. The popular event raised £1700 for its partner charity, Cancer Research UK.

With 27 rival teams formed from nationwide PTS branches, various companies within the Travis Perkins Group, customers and product manufacturers, the tournament saw fierce competition with PTS Norwich finally taking home the title.

Ian Church, managing director for PTS said: “Football is universally loved across our business and throughout the UK so this always proves to be a popular event! Supporting Cancer Research is incredibly important to PTS – all our staff get behind the charity and use this as an opportunity to come together as a team to achieve something positive’’.

“Congratulations to PTS Norwich – they definitely earned the top trophy and I hope to see them back again next year. A huge thank you also to our suppliers who sponsored the event, without their contribution the event would not be possible’’.

The money was raised through team entry fees of £60 and through a raffle which included prizes such as an experience day at a car track.
