Drain Center undergoes significant refurbishment programme

LEAMINGTON SPA: As part of the wider rebranding of Wolseley’s ‘Center’ brands, all Drain Center branches are being refurbished in a significant investment programme, following a successful trial at the Bristol Fishponds branch.

The Drain Center refurbishment programme is being undertaken following customer feedback and includes brand new trade counters, where staff are closer to the customers, as well as new stock ranges including tools, accessories, work wear and clothing. Traditional point of sale will be replaced with 40 inch TV screens with news and weather, supplier adverts and new product news, reducing both the long term financial and environmental costs.

The refurbishment programme is part of a rebranding process which will see the new ‘We’ve got the solution’ branding rolled out across the 80 Drain Center branches in the UK.

David Young, trading director at Drain Center, said: “The relationship between our staff and customers is critical to Drain Center’s success and we wanted both the refurbishment programme and the rebranding process to reflect this. The new ‘We’ve got the solution’ branding demonstrates to our customers that we are evolving to meet their changing needs and reflects the comprehensive knowledge and stock that our branches can provide.

“’We’ve got the solution’ reflects the four main deliverables our customers expect from us – the right price, stocking a good essentials range, delivery within agreed timescales and offering exceptional customer service at all times.”

Bristol Fishponds was the first Drain Center branch to be refurbished and positive customer feedback has led to the programme being rolled out across the rest of the country.

Mark Coggins, branch manager for the Bristol Fishponds Drain Center, said: “It looks like a different store - visually the rebranding and new uniforms are very impressive but actually the new trade counter and layout really opens up the store, allowing us to interact with customers more easily. We were already a branch with very strong customer relationships and this will help to strengthen them further. We’ve had a really positive reaction from customers who like the open plan layout, as well as the new product ranges such as van essentials for plumbers and builders.”
