Merchants praise supplier for upholding industry standards

BARROW-ON-SOAR: Two merchants have heaped praise on landscaping manufacturer Brett Landscaping for helping the industry to maintain quality standards with independent installers.
Paul McGuin of Deben Buildbase Croydon and Tom Parker of Parker Building Supplies, Sussex and Kent both believe more suppliers need to introduce quality schemes like the Brett Approved Installer programme to maintain confidence with consumers that the industry is not full of rogue traders.
Paul McGuin of Deben Buildbase said: “It is all very well having national standards but really we rely on individual companies throughout the construction industry to find practical ways to encourage local builders and contractors to consistently deliver high standards. With consumers also buying over the trade counter we are hearing more and more that they are becoming self taught DIYers as they are worried about employing local traders in case they get a bad job. With a supplier having an approved scheme it gives us confidence that we can recommend local people.”
Tom Parker of Parker Building Supplies said: “It is really impressive to see suppliers like Brett motivating their installer network with an annual quality awards scheme. We would love to see other suppliers taking the initiative to drive standards and improve the reputation of construction traders nationally.”
The Brett Landscaping Approved Installer Awards are recognised as encouraging the highest industry standards and further helping the approved installers gain trust and credibility with their local customers.
Alan Smith, managing director of Brett Landscaping explains: “We know that good installers often get a bad name from the shoddy workmanship of others and our Approved Installer Awards are really designed to help our installers authenticate that they are a credible and trustworthy installer as well as to reward and encourage our installer network to achieve the absolute best results that they can. I would like to extend my congratulations to all our winners and runners up.”
