Chadwick’s charity rugby day success

BLACKPOOL: Chadwicks Builders’ Merchant treated its customers to a hospitality day, as it sponsored Fylde RFC’s 41-26 win over Cambridge RFC, while raising money for Barnardo’s.

Chadwicks invited 70 guests and customers to a hospitality day at the North West’s top club outside the Premiership, with all customers digging deep and helping to raise money for its nominated charity Barnardo’s.

The annual event included a man of the match presentation, pre and post-match corporate hospitality and the best views in the stadium.

Speaking on the weekend’s successful fundraising, general manager, Steve Hanson, said: “Our customers look forward to this event every year, and it’s our way of saying thank you for their business and support throughout what has been a tough year, for many. Plus, it’s a great way to support local sports teams, which are crucial to communities and rely on financial support from local businesses.

“The turnout, as ever, was fantastic – especially as the day culminated in the screening of the England v Wales Six Nations game. This year, for us, was even more significant as we managed to raise a record £600 for Barnardo’s, generously donated by our customers.

“While this day has always been our way of showing our appreciation, it’s great to see the giving spirit of our customers and the donation will go a long way to improving the lives of disadvantaged children and their families.”
