The big green Pipe Center and Climate Center branch

WEST BROMWICH: The 32 500 sq ft new flagship branch, located at Doranda Way, just off Junction One of the M5, has become the largest, greenest single outlet in the Pipe Center and Climate Center national branch network.
It will be the most energy efficient of Pipe Center and Climate Center's 111 branches, thanks to the use of the latest sustainable and high performance products throughout the construction of the building, chosen from across the company's range.
As a result, anticipated energy use at the branch will be reduced by some 65 per cent compared with the previous building.
The West Bromwich facility will provide building services, industrial, refrigeration and air conditioning contractors across the Midlands with comprehensive stocks of the company's full range of equipment, components and tools, backed by state-of-the-art logistics and technical support.
At the heart of the new model is the launch of a unique Customer Service Guarantee, which sets out a series of key promises to customers about the standard of service they will receive.
This includes fully staffed trade counters from 7.00am to 5.00pm; orders ready to collect in one hour from being received; 10000 products with guaranteed next day delivery and a measured delivery promise.
The West Bromwich facility, headed by branch manager John Hancock, is fully stocked and has dedicated trade counters for both Pipe Center and Climate Center. New onsite services for customers include free wi-fi and television.
The official opening was marked with a customer open day, with former World Dart's Champion Mark Webster providing a masterclass in on-target performance and offering visitors a chance to pit their own skills against a champion.
The event was supported by 20 key suppliers who staged an exhibition of their latest products and technology. These included top manufacturers such as Daikin, Durapipe, GF, Grundfos, Pegler Yorkshire and Toshiba Air Conditioning.
