Markey starts new house development

Published:  29 February, 2012

STROUD: Markey Construction will start work this week on a 78-home new development at the Cashes Green hospital site in Stroud.

The sustainable site is being developed by Haboakus - a joint venture between Kevin McCloud's company Hab and housing group GreenSquare - and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Site preparation work will start imminently with Markey erecting fencing and removing asbestos from the existing buildings.

Markey managing director Richard Dudgeon said: "This is a fantastic project for us and we're looking forward to working with the team and to breathing new life into this landmark site.

"As a business that's committed to sustainable development, Cashes Green really plays to our strengths and we can't wait to get started."
