Chandlers expand vehicle fleet

PETWORTH: Chandlers Building Supplies recently upgraded its vehicle fleet to include a brand new Toyota Dyna. The delivery of the new vehicle means the independent builders merchant is better equipped to manage tough jobs, tricky loads and demanding schedules.

Despite reports of gloomy industry conditions and economic hardship, Chandlersis bucking the downturn by continuing to invest across the business in areas including property and vehicle fleet, whilst striving to support the community through various ongoing initiatives.

The new vehicle is set to provide the business with greater efficiency and flexibility thanks to features such as drop sides which allow the vehicle to be loaded and offloaded with a forklift truck.

In addition, the flat bed vehicle functionality means that a more diverse range of products can be transported more effectively than ever before, enabling Chandlers to fulfil order requirements that previously were not possible.

The new vehilce also has an increased capacity and is able to carry up to 1.2 tonnes at any one time. This will allow Chandlers to combine deliveries where possible, reducing returns to the branch thus lowering carbon emissions.

Richard Skinner, Chandlers commercial director said: “The addition of the Toyota Dyna to our vehicle fleet means we are able build on the extensive list of services we are already able to offer to customers and contribute to a greener transport system.”
