Europe is no place for DIY says B&Q

NEW YORK: Ian Cheshire, chief executive of B&Q owner Kingfisher, told shareholders in the US that Europe's politicians needed to fix Europe, or face the consequences. "The outcome is very binary," said Mr Cheshire.

No amount of do-it-yourself will help, says the Washington Post reporting his speech to USA shareholders.

"Cheshire and his shareholders, half of which are in North America, are passengers in the runaway train of European disunion, uncertain of whether it will derail and crash or get back on track and keep moving," said the newspaper.
