Redland supports latest NHBC fixings standard

Published:  01 December, 2011

LONDON: Pitched roof company Redland has welcomed guidance issued by the NHBC relating to the fixing method for roof tiles.

The guidance makes clear that mechanical fixing is required for all ridge and hip tiles and is issued as a result of the large number of claims being made against NHBC Warranties relating to problems with mortar used on pitched roofs.

This announcement, said Redland, is another step towards the wholesale adoption of dry fix systems for all new roofs – an installation method that the company recommends as best practice.
