Ridgeons says renewables on the rise

CAMBRIDGE: Ridgeons says it has seen sales of renewable products nearly triple in the past year. The company has revealed a 176% year-on-year increase in the value and volume of its renewable products.
Ridgeons has seen the increase mainly across sales of energy renewable products in its 22 branches in the east of England. Popular products include heat pumps (air and ground source), solar thermal panels, photovoltaic panels and biomass boilers.
Ridgeons group sustainability manager Dave Jordan highlighted a number of reasons for the trend. "Over the last year we have put sustainability in the spotlight, providing customers with the information they require to make informed decisions about the use of relevant renewable products within the build environment," he said. "We have also spent time visiting architects, trade associations and local buying groups to disseminate this message and share our sustainability knowledge."
Mr Jordan believes that new legislation and regulations are also behind the move.
"As the requirement to build to the new standards has become ever more pressing we have seen a significant upturn in enquiries."
