Lovell appointed to £90m refurbishment programme

LANCASHIRE: Affordable housing specialist Lovell has been appointed as a contractor on a four-year, £90m refurbishment programme in Oldham. 

Lovell, a division of construction and regeneration group Morgan Sindall, joins 13 other firms on the renovation of hundreds of properties owned by First Choice Homes Oldham, which controls 12 000 homes.

Work, which will start in the first quarter of next year, will include kitchen and bathroom replacements, electrical and heating upgrades and external improvements.

In a stock market statement, Morgan Sindall chief executive Paul Smith, said: "This framework appointment enhances our position as a leading provider of planned and response maintenance services to housing associations and local authorities nationwide.

"We look forward to working with FCHO throughout the duration of the framework."
