BSI in UKAS pilot for Green Deal

Published:  26 October, 2011

UK: The British Standards Institution (BSI) has been selected by UKAS as one of the few pilot organisations to trial the certification scheme against which Green Deal installers and advisors will be audited.

The purpose of the pilot is to set out the development of a new certification scheme that will ensure consumers have confidence in the products being recommended and that the installation carried out is to the highest level.

As part of the Government's Green Deal initiative, all installers and advisors must be certified against their relevant standard.

Gary Fenton, global director of assurance at BSI, commented: "BSI can bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Green Deal certification scheme."

The organisation is seeking accreditation to certify installers and advisors against all five measures detailed by the Deal.
