New operations director for Ridgeons

CAMBRIDGE: Ridgeons, one of the UK’s largest independent timber and builders’ merchants, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Eggleston (43), as the new operations director for the Ridgeon Group.

Primarily based at Ridgeons’ Cromwell Road branch in Cambridge, Mr Eggleston brings a deep understanding and rounded knowledge of retail to this new role, having worked in the industry for over 25 years

In his role, Mr Eggleston will harness the collective and unparalleled skills and knowledge that Ridgeons’ employees have to offer, in order to entice customers and improve sales. Responsible for over 600 employees, Mr Eggleston will provide direction to branch teams, review performance, explore relevant opportunities and add value for customers, staff and stakeholders alike.

Ridgeons’ managing director, Angela Rushforth, commented: ″We are pleased to welcome Gary to the company and to this new role, and wish him every success. Gary’s invaluable knowledge of the retail industry will benefit the Group immensely, helping us to enhance overall customer experience, while improving sales and growing our market share."

Mr Eggleston brings with him a wealth of industry experience and knowledge having worked in similar positions for Focus DIY.
