London calling for Polypipe WMS’ SuDS seminar
Published:  09 September, 2011

LONDON: Polypipe Water Management Solutions (WMS), the UK’s dedicated sustainable drainage and water management expert, is set to continue the success of its highly praised SuDS seminar by bringing the event to London’s IET Savoy Place on Tuesday 22 November.

The free one-day CPD seminar, ‘SuDS: Planning for Change’, comes to the UK’s capital city for a second time following on from last year’s event at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne’s Civic Centre.

This year’s seminar will take an updated look at challenging industry drivers relating to the growing use of SuDS, and aims to educate and inform consultants, civil engineers, local authorities, planners, designers and engineers on design guidance and legislation governing SuDS best practice.

Each topic has been carefully chosen to promote better understanding of SuDS and to give clear guidance on how the construction industry can fully utilise the most appropriate water management solutions. Attendees will gain an insight into the key SuDS drivers, including recent Government and EU legislation such as the Floods and Water Management Act and, for the first time in the series, the impact of the Code for Sustainable Homes.

Rachel Smith, marketing manager for Polypipe WMS, commented: “We are delighted to be able to bring the seminar to London for a second time. With recent changes to government legislation and more stringent guidelines to adhere to, there is a strong and growing demand for clearer information relating to SuDS.

“Our position as the UK’s dedicated expert in sustainable drainage and water management solutions means that we are well placed to advise and guide those affected by SuDS legislation, and we have a responsibility to share our expertise and knowledge. This is the fifth time we have held such a seminar, and each year feedback has suggested that we have given attendees a valuable insight into dealing effectively with SuDS legislation. I am sure that this year’s seminar will be just as successful as past events.”
