Totally 2012 gets social
Published: 06 September, 2011
BIRMINGHAM: ‘Three-in-one’ trade show, Totally DIY: Totally Tools: Totally Secure, has a new look website for its 2012 outing. This is the 18th time the show has run, and 2012 will mark its third appearance at the NEC in Birmingham, running alongside Spring Fair International.
“Like any other business, we need to keep the show up to date and in line with the expectations of our exhibitors and visitors,” said show director James Murray, of Brintex. “That’s why we have also set up social media links for the show this year – we’re confident they will bring a new dimension to the way people prepare for and use the show.”
This means that visitors can now get regular updates on the show via its Twitter account @totallyshows and register via its Facebook page, Totally DIY-Tools-Secure, or website www.totallydiy.com.
“Using these platforms means we can get updates out about the show quickly in bite-sized chunks via Twitter, and then follow up in more detail via Facebook and the show website. For many exhibitors and visitors accessing information via their mobile is a given, particularly when they are on the move, so it will be interesting to have suppliers and buyers from the industry joining the conversation.”
On the exhibitor bookings front sales are tracking well against the same time last year. Show sales director Paul Grinsell commented, “The show is poised to grow again this year as it continues to exploit and develop its co-location with Spring Fair International and build on this year’s 15% growth in space.”
