Interserve to take £33m Merthyr college project

MERTHYR TYDFIL: Interserve is reported to be in final talks to take the £33m design and build contract for a sixth form college in Merthyr Tydfil says Construction Enquirer.

Construction is planned to start in January with a completion date of June 2013 of a modern tertiary college in the centre of Merthyr Tydfil town.

The new Merthyr Learning Quarter will be the new home for sixth formers from the existing Merthyr Tydfil Further Education College and several other secondary schools in the county borough.

Davis Langdon is acting as the project manager on the job to build the five-storey college of around 140 000 sq m.
