LONDON: Development Securities plans to start work on its flagship £230m Hammermith Grove office scheme shortly. Unveiling its half year results, the developer said it intended to move forward with several schemes after the company's busiest period of acquisitions in 15 years.

Chairman Hugh Jenkins: "We anticipate a full planning consent imminently. We are in advanced negotiations for institutional forward-funding of the development, and expect to commence works on site in the second half of 2011."

The mixed office and retail scheme will be built speculatively as two office buildings, as well as restaurants, cafˇs and new public realm.
