RIPON: Wolseley UK is entering three rafts in the Great Ripon Raft Race that takes place at the canal basin, in the city's Boroughbridge Road, on Saturday 27 August.

Wolseley has two rafts from its Melmerby Distribution Centre and one from Boroughbridge Road head office.

The teams are raising money for to support the charity Scuba Diving for All, which enables people with physical difficulties to dive and swim, often for the first time, with a team of qualified volunteers.

As well as supplying raffle prizes, Wolseley is also providing original baths and trophies for the infamous Bath Race, where anyone can provide a team on the day and use the vessels provided to try their luck in a race.

George Brickwood, from Wolseley, said: "We are pleased to be involved with the raft race as it grows in popularity every year and we're very much looking forward to presenting the prizes on the day."

The Great Ripon Raft Race will take place from 9.30am to 4.30pm, with race heats taking place throughout the day before the final at 3.30pm.
