Solar firms sign £52m deal

BOURNEMOUTH: Two of the UK's leading solar firms have signed an equipment deal worth £52m. Through the partnership, Surface Power will now supply solar thermal systems to installers Solar Fusion.

The partnership comes in the wake of the Government's Renewable Heat Incentive which comes into force in July. It will enable owners of buildings who install renewable heating methods to receive monetary payments depending on how much heat they generate.

By 2020, the Government expects the incentive scheme to result in 13 000 renewable heat installations at industrial sites and 110 000 installations in the commercial and public sector.
