Gas installation company Seaflame fails

Published:  16 June, 2011

GREATER LONDON: Gas installation company Seaflame, a subsidiaries of housing maintenance contractor Kinetics Group, has gone into administration.

Kinetics' Social housing repairs division DC Group was also wound-up in the High Court this week.

Nick Murphy, business development director at Kinetics said: "We are very disappointed for the loss to the group of DC and Seaflame. We did not follow the market by bidding for work at any cost."

Seaflame is in the hands of administrator Zolfo Cooper and held six contracts worth around £9m. Mr Murphy said the contracts will be novated to new companies created as part of a restructure of the business, if clients consent.

Kinetics will wind down all of its operations in the north of England and retrench into its core gas and electrical servicing business under a major restructure.
