SIG suffers.

SIG sales down 10%

Published:  13 July, 2009

LONDON: Insulation maker SIG reported a 10% drop in first-half sales.

The company, which sells insulation and other construction materials, blamed "exceptionally challenging" trading conditions.

The company said there had been no change in the trading environment and the decline reflected lower orders due to a combination of deteriorating economic conditions and exceptionally cold weather during the first quarter.

SIG had sales of £1.345bn in the six months to June 30, down from £1.494bn the same period last year.
