Parkers launches 'Walk of Fame' scheme
Published:  04 May, 2011

UCKFIELD: Sussex County Cricket Club's 'Walk of Fame' scheme run by Parker Building Supplies, gives supporters the chance to purchase their own commemorative paving stone engraved with names of Sussex CCC players, past and present, for a charitable donation.

The stones will be placed in a 'Hall of Fame' style walkway at the back of the new Apex Car Rental Stand in the South West corner of the ground.

For a minimum of £100, supporters can have their name featured on the same stone as their favourite player, whether it be commemorating a special family occasion, club success, business name or anything else of their choice.

Stewart Pierce, financial director of Parker Building Supplies, said: "The scheme is a fantastic way for fans of the club to help it develop while also securing their own small slice of history.

"As a keen supporter of the club, Parker Building Supplies is delighted to be running the scheme and we look forward to seeing the Walk of Fame grow. I would encourage as many fans as possible to take advantage of this unique opportunity."

Sussex's chief executive Dave Brooks said: "The Walk of Fame is a great way to link up our past and our future. Our Sussex Cricket in the Community Trust raises funds to support the operation of our Sutton Winson Academy Ground at Blackstone where the next generation of Sussex cricketers hone their skills, and all the funds raised from this scheme will enable the legacy from our past players to help develop our new stars."
